An Arran Clamjamfry: Memories and Music
An evening of Arran Memories with John Sillars, passionate Arran man,raconteur and humorist.
Music by celebrated Edinburgh duo Various Moons performing the songs of Colin Donati, with Robin Mason’s rich and diverse cello accompaniments, Various Moons flit good-naturedly across a range of musical genres with a consistent and compelling stage presence and performed recently at Celtic Connections.
Edinburgh-based duo, Various Moons, comprises poet, songwriter and guitarist, Colin Donati, and jazz-influenced classical cellist, Robin Mason. Colin and Robin’s musical paths first crossed when they collaborated on a number of Benchtours theatre productions in the late 00s.
Their first show in their own right was as part of the programme for the Edinburgh Jazz Bar Festival Fringe in 2014. Various Moons have since appeared at various Scottish festivals and literary events, including at the Byre Festival in St Andrews, Steve Kettley’s Click Clack Club, Edinburgh, and at the Anstruther Three Harbours Festival, as well as a return visit to the Fringe in 2015.
They appeared at this year’s Celtic Connections Festival, in the Glasgow Royal Concert Hall, as part of the Luath/Greentrax ‘Scotia Nova’ night.
